  • let down...

I just got the news:  I didn't get hired by Consumers.  At first, and I feel kind of bad about this, I breathed a sigh of relief.  I was nervous they would hire me and I would have to learn a new job all over again...but now that reality is setting in, I'm very disappointed.  This would have been a great opportunity to start a career and make much better money than I am as a server.

The email was short and sweet; nothing personal, just a copy-and-paste letter that everyone else who wasn't hired probably received as well.  So here I sit, wondering where to go from here.  Any ideas?

  • Ok, I know I'm a slacker for not posting sooner but there's been a lot going on lately that I'd rather not share on xanga...sorry.

So, in recent news...I have travel plans for the end of November and beginning of December!  I will be driving home with Mark Nov. 30 and flying back to Grand Rapids Dec. 15...which means 2 whole weeks with the fam!!!  I have grand plans for snowboarding, snowmobiling (the whole 2nd week I'll be out there will be spent at Island Park, Idaho snowmobiling!) and just overall playing in the mountains...jealous yet?  Jk...I'm just excited!

Today was one of my more relaxing days off; I baked another apple pie (after the 2 last Friday for Elaine's reception), cleaned the apartment (sorta...I hit the highly nasty spots and called it good) and went for a walk.  My walk was probably the best part of my day so far (big plans tonight!)  Today was super sunny but nice and cool (sweatshirt weather) so I decided to walk to a nearby coffee shop and then walk for a bit to clear my head and hopefully lift my mood some.  In the first 2 blocks away from my apartment, I was offered a ride twice (both people I knew!)  It was a nice gesture on their part, but seriously, heaven forbid I get out of my car and walk somewhere!  I have to say though, the leaves are amazing this time of year!  I love all the colors out here...Montana has mountains but not that many leafy trees, so color change in the fall is rather limited.

As far as my big plans tonite, our small group is having a slumber party!!  I'm excited...pizza, games, junk food galore, and about 10 or 11 junior high girls...good times will be had!  hehehe...maybe I'll be productive and write about it on here sooner rather than later...I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you, though.  lol till next time...

Apparently it's been awhile since I last updated!  I wish I had pages and pages worth of updating to do, but alas, just a paragraph or two at most.  Mark is adjusting well to life in Michigan...although I heard him say that he now knows that he'll do ANYTHING to avoid working in a factory ever again!!  hahaha, as long as he uses it as a motivator to continue after his dream to restore muscle cars, then his time here was well-spent.
Softball is winding down...my tournament starts this week and Steve has been done for a couple weeks now with both of his teams.  Volleyball ended about 3 weeks ago...this summer has flown by!!  And we still haven't accomplished everything we would've liked to.  We DID make it to a Whitecaps game a couple weekends ago though.  That was a blast!  I'd definitely rather watch baseball in person than on TV.
This last weekend Steve was in Chicago Friday night through this morning with some friends from his online game and he seemed to enjoy himself!  Opal and I went down to Chicago just for the day yesterday and walked Michigan Avenue, shopping and just enjoying the experience (my first time on a train AND in Chicago!)   It was a great time...so much to do and not enough time to do it!  We decided we'd have to go back to do some of the things we didn't get to yesterday...
So that about winds up my life in a nutshell for the last month or so.  Till next time...

  • well, my parents have been here and left again and all in all, it was a good weekend.  It went by way too quickly but it was nice to have a full apartment with them here!  Ok, so in all honesty I felt my space was a little invaded at first but as the weekend went on, i got over it, and coming home from work today to just my brother, the place felt a little empty.  it made me kinda sad.  but...Mark is here until December, so that should be an exciting adventure!

  • so we survived Montana.  no big fights with my parents, my brother graduated quite successfully, my dad didn't say anything terribly offensive, and we got to see friends we haven't seen in awhile.  I'd say that's a good week. =)  Pictures are on my facebook though...
